A few days back, I was looking for a zine. It’d been emailed to me some time back; but, several laptops on, I no longer have the document on my local drive. The premise, the plot, and even the name of the company Doyle worked for: I remember all that (surprisingly enough). I just don't remember the name of the fic itself. So off it was to the interwebs to check zine listing sites for a hint.

Still haven’t found it, but I found another really intriguing fic: A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words.

How to describe this story without spoiling it? Well, it’s told in retrospect by a young woman. Moving into a new house, and cleaning out a desk left by the prior owner, she finds a picture of a striking green-eyed man. Later that night, during a terrible storm, someone comes knocking at her door: it’s the green-eyed man from the picture, even more striking than the image. His car has broken down, he has to be somewhere quickly, and he had once lived on the premises. Could he use the phone?

And that’s when we go down the rabbit hole.

It's a crossover with Good Omens. I am not a fan of crossovers, not at all, actually *g* but the lads through the eyes of Aziraphale and Crowley during a fight in a pub is such a lovely story.

Reading Pros Fic Bingo Challenge - Curtain fic

So, what do we have here? We have a living room, a bedroom and there are credits to the bathroom and the kitchen. No case, nothing outside the house. That's what I would call a curtain fic.

The story is Of Photos, Frames and Fur by LilyK and it made me really laugh. I like the way Bodie tries to discover why Doyle has a photo of Cowley in a silver frame. And we learn about one of Bodie's secrets and of Doyle's past with Cowley.

Takeaway by Derry

This is another fic by Derry, because as shooting2kill said about my Desperate Times review, she's a good writer and somehow never gets mentioned nearly as often as other good writers (and ones who aren't so good!) It's only a little fic again (because it's late now and my eyes are sleepy...) but hopefully it will also take you to the list of her stories at Circuit Archive, and you can carry on reading... *g*

Oh, and hah! I went to my Great Pros Watch post for Takeaway to find these pics, and look what I wrote under them:

"And oh, what's that fic that's the "translation" of the lads' conversation here?! I know it, I love it - but what's it called and who wrote it?! *vbg*"

(And second coincidence - my final reply on that post was telling someone I was just about to re-read Masquerade, which has also just been recced for Prosfic Bingo! *g*) Now I think I'd better take my exclamation marks and go to bed....
