Thanks very much to
As no one has suggested a fic for this week (as far as I know - shriek if you have) I'm taking the liberty of reccing. And to be topical, with the US-Russia summit meeting this week, my choice is the scary Cold War tale:
"Time Out: Past Tense" by Pamela Rose

Now is the opportunity to volunteer a fic for a few weeks hence.
I am wondering, however, if we shouldn't take a Summer recess - Parliament does. I will be away for most of August in any event, 'exploring England's Canal system' in solitude (to quote Bob Rocca), at least, with unreliable internet access. But you don't really need me... Do we need a break to go away and find and read new things to rec? Any thoughts?
The fics lined up for the next two weeks:
16 July "Velvet Underground" by Sebastian (recced by byslantedlight)

23 July "Suitable Gravity" by DVS (recced by sc_fossil)

Date: 2009-07-07 11:40 am (UTC)Trouble is, as we are going into deep summer holiday mode in my little domain (and the silly season in the news media), it's easy to assume others are too - but of course that is not so for Australasian friends, or even those unburdened with school-age children.

A discussion-week with an author to answer questions about their fic, for instance? You had a few writers say they were willing to talk about things, so maybe you could approach someone about that?
