deserves a medal for having the courage to recc a fic as long and demanding as "The Cook and the Warehouseman" by Helen Raven, and another medal for dedication in dealing so eloquently with so many and varied readers’ comments.

I’m so glad you did recc it, though. I for one would never had go around to it without the motivation of other people reading and discussing it at the same time, and adding so much to the experience of encountering this fic for the first time.

The fic for this week is the very much shorter "Voice-over" by Elizabeth O'Shea, kindly recced by byslantedlight, at:

http://www.thecircuitarchive.com/tca/archive/13/voiceover.html

http://hatstand.slashcity.net/eoshea/voice.html

It is time to schedule some more fics ahead. Please let me know of any reccs for the following dates:

18 June "Fly on the Wall" by Lezlie Conch (recced by sc_fossil)

http://www.thecircuitarchive.com/tca/archive/5/flyon.html

25 June

2 July "Harlequin Airs" by Ellis Ward (recced by [livejournal.com profile] gritsinmisery)

http://hatstand.slashcity.net/ellis/airs1.html

9 July

16 July "Velvet Underground" by Sebastian (recced by byslantedlight)

23 July  "Suitable Gravity" by DVS (recced by sc_fossil)
http://hatstand.slashcity.net/dvs/suitable1.html

(These dates are only guidelines, reccs don’t strictly have to be posted on a Thursday, that is just there for consistency.)

Well gosh, now I just feel inadequate with my "very much shorter" fic! *g* Ne'er mind, we'll give it a go anyway!

I'll have a go at Velvet Underground by Sebastian for 16 July, if you like...

Ooh, not sure if Velvet Underground could be considered representative or not... I must think about that... remember to ask people... *g*

I am also grateful to Josh for both the rec and the discussion. I certainly would never have read TCATH without prompting - and I adored it! I also adored being made aware of why some people didn't like it. That's always a 'plus' for me both as a writer (not in Pros; sorry) and a reader.

It was great to find we were able to handle an online dissection of such a long story, under extremely able 'supervision'.

I'd love to rec Suitable Gravity but I am quite often away/offline for a month at a time and am never sure when that month will start/end so I can't possibly commit myself to anything. I'm wondering if you could twist someone else's arm, virtually speaking? I always read the stories and catch up on the discussions when I get home!

I'd do Suitable Gravity for July 23rd. That way it will keep me from reccing another fun BDSM story or one that dregs up too much controversy. *beg* I'm trying to be good...

LOL! What else do you do for fun, poke pit vipers?

Who, me? *blinks innocently* Nah, I love mush and romance on one hand, then I have a kink for rough BDSM on the other. Go figure. I'm an old lady who is trying to stay out of trouble and most of the time it works. *g* When you get to be my age, you tend to speak your mind, often to your own detriment. LOL!

And I happen to like snakes.

Oh I like you!

Snakes are neat; they're so soft.

Thanks so much! That was my pleasure. Absolutely. I'm delighted so many tried TCATW for the very first time -- and enjoyed it. It's fun turning people onto your secret obsessions. *g*

And I love Voice Over, so this should be a great discussion coming up. It's a long time since I've read it.

I'd like to propose "Harlequin Airs" (http://hatstand.slashcity.net/ellis/airs1.html) by Ellis Ward for 2 July (or 9 July, whichever works better.) For those of us also doing the not-Pros Pros-Watch at [livejournal.com profile] the_safehouse, it'll be a double-dose of MS at the circus because we're watching "Ladder of Swords" for 5 July.
