Pros fic club? continued
Feb. 14th, 2009 11:47 pmI'm wildly impressed by the response to my post about this. Thank you so much each and everyone who commented so positively. Roll on next Thursday...
Meanwhile, I'd be grateful if anyone can suggest a name for the Pros fic club, other than Pros fic club, which has at least the virtue of being self-explanatory...

Date: 2009-02-19 09:32 pm (UTC)I like things on a Pros canon theme, but tend to agree with others below. Here I look hypocritical because my lj is called 'Confidential Files', but only till I think of one I like better, it's not even confidential for goodness sake.
I was once a civil servant too. 'File bring-up' was the procedure that always used to get me in those days.

Date: 2009-02-15 03:55 am (UTC)I like the File Room too. It sort of points to how many years of stories are in storage at the archives, just waiting to be broken out and read and enjoyed again.

I really like things on a Pros canon theme, but I wouldn't like to be seen to copy your excellent 'Briefing Room' and don't think I could sustain the theme (even with your consent).
Re 'The File Room', I tend to agree with others below. Here I look hypocritical because my lj is called 'Confidential Files', but only till I think of one I like better, it's not even confidential, for goodness sake.

Date: 2009-02-19 09:39 pm (UTC)I like things on a Pros canon theme, but I tend to agree with others below about Assignments, Reports and File Room. Sounds too much like work, or a fic writing challenge, and we already have the excellent Briefing Room.
Will probably go with 'Reading Room'. 'CI5 Reading Room'?

Date: 2009-02-19 09:43 pm (UTC)'Weekly Assignments' sounds a bit prim and proper for you, if I may say so.
I'm swayed so far by arguments for 'Pros Reading Room',but thanks for commenting.

Date: 2009-02-19 09:51 pm (UTC)'Reading Room' is looking like a strong contender. I totally agree with you about 'File Room' and the depths of the file store. I've rehashed some of that civil service speak for my lj, but it doesn't seem fun enough for a weekly dip into Pros fic.

File room sounds a bit too office-like for my tastes, too much like going to work rather than going to have some fun

Date: 2009-02-19 09:58 pm (UTC)I love them all, esp. the last one!
Except 'The Adventures of Sex on Legs and the Other One'. That would have to be renamed 'The Adventures of Tall, Dark and Beautiful and the golly'.
