Pros fic club?

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in joining in a sort of book club to read Pros fic?

 

Well, like a book club, but instead of having to plough through a whole novel each week, we could all read one particular Pros fic. It doesn’t have to be long – just enough to read in a lunch break or on the bus. Then we could get together to discuss it here at CI5hq.

 

As a novice to Pros fic, for me this would be a great way to find out more. And is it just me who finds that often a rec comes in at a time when it isn’t convenient to read the fic, and then other things come along, and I never get around to it? 

 

If anyone else thinks this is a good idea, I would like to start next Thursday (19 February) with a rec for the weekend. After that, if a different person volunteered the rec each week, I would just try to coordinate things.

 

I’m posting this a bit ahead of time because I’ll be away from home and internet from 15 to 19 February.

I didn't expect such a quick or enthusiastic response, am humbled.

AS v. briefly said above, I'll post next Thursday with the title of a fic, and a review safely under a cut, and hope other people will either comment or post things themselves over the next few days. Meanwhile, I'd ask for a rec for the next week (first to arrive by a certain time mid-week?), and post about that on the Thursday, and so on.

I hope this makes any sense at all. Sorry, am frantically trying to finish some work in time to go away to Dorset for school hols and still have time to read the keenly anticipated Discovered in a Valentine fic :)

Lovely idea! It would be a great way to not only discover, but actually read new (to me) stories (Far too often, I end up noting or bookmarking stories to read - and that's the end of it.

I'm up for that! It would..focus my Pros reading. I do tend to find myself going on to the Circuit Archive or the Hatstand and picking one at random, and then I can't remember the title or the author or whatever. So picking one a week would work out nicely.
