Title: The Missing Piece
Author: Bluespirit (written under the pseudonym Cassidy Collins)

Strange! Last  week I read this story, and I thought that there are still and always surprises!
It’s extremely romantic – If that’s not romantic, I don’t know…
Bodie is somewhere in Africa,  – and he has a bad fever. His companions are forced to leave him alone,  alhough they think that he’s dying. "I know, Rick...but nobody should die alone like this. Not even blokes like us."
Now guess who or what saves his life, and what the ‚Missing Piece‘ is meant to be…?

I’ve found it on rec50:

And the remark there fits perfect:
„Sometimes reality is totally overrated...“

Ooh yes, I remember this one - and it is a bit different for me too! Maybe because it manages to be B/D even though it's about Bodie's time in Africa?! Or just because... no one else has written that particular plot?! (Or if they have, I haven't read it yet...)

(And hee - I was just talking with someone about Courtney Gray's Griffin fic, and saying that I liked it, and there it is recced under The Missing Piece! *g*)

Oh, I'm not a very good person to ask this - I like to know who the characters are before I read a fic, so I tend not to read them until I have seen the films... But other people read fic like that all the time, just imagining the characters as "original" characters, or maybe trying to fit them in as B/D... You'd have to try it and see! I like Courtney Gray's stories in general though, so... *g*

Thanks for the rec. I enjoyed the story. It was a romance, wasn't it? Really a nice change/twist.
