Prosfic That's A Bit Different Rec Challenge?

Okay, I'm not entirely sure what I mean by that, but I'm going to leave it up anyway... *g*

Obviously all Pros stories are unique and individual and all, but lately I've read a couple of stories that have seemed somehow... different. I'm not sure if it's the plot, or the premise it's built on being slightly unexpected, or if it's just that they don't fit as easily or closely with my versions of the lads, which is what makes the story seem extra "different", but it's something... Something that makes me sit up and go huh at the end of it, and think about it a bit longer...

Any idea what I mean? Anyone fancy posting recs for a story or two that's made them go huh, and think about it a bit longer...? *g*

And I shall start the ball rolling with a post up above... *g*

Hmmm. The problem for me is that the stories that I like work for me so even though I might wonder about the characterization, I still like the story because... I like it. The ones that stick are those that show the lads so nasty and cruel to each other. I shall have to think of a "different" type of fic in a positive light.

Oh, I didn't mean that their characters had to be different to the way we see them! In the Deveroux Dane story that I recced above, her characters are pretty spot on for my vision of them. It's the plot that's different, and the way she manages to twist it around somehow... So it's not just fic that makes me think Yeay, lads together and winning against the world!, or even Ooh, lads challenged and having problems it's... something different! Hard to define though, because what's different for me, what makes me "think outside my box" might be someone else's automatic "Well of course!" *g*

Fics I don't like aren't necessarily different - it's just that I don't like them! *g*

Oh no! I didn't get home in time to stop you deleting your rec! I'm so sorry yo did that! Really, a rec is a rec is a rec - they're all good, and "different" is whatever it means to you, so... Maybe you've still got it and can post it again? You know there's very rarely a "right" or a "wrong" at this comm (except for being mean to people, obviously...)

And by the way - C/D? That one's a different too far for me! *g* (Although that said, I have read one C/D story that I quite liked - two if you count that it was written as two stories, one each from Cowley's and Doyle's pov... Some Days Are Better Than Others, N'est-ce Pas? and La Perfide Albion both in Nudge Nudge Wink Wink 3" (http://www.palelyloitering.com/zines/nnww3.html) Come to think of it, they were very different - maybe I should rec them!)
