Over at the_safehouse and at least one of the Lists, L.R.H. Balzar mentioned that she's compiling a list of episode-related Prosfic. Since firlefanzine mentioned this some time ago, and I started making a list, and because it doesn't fit as a reply to the post at the_safehouse and because I'd foolishly saved what I've done so far as html code for lj (so that it would be weird and probably unhelpful as an email), I thought I'd post it here and link this to the the_safehouse post... Not that I've got very far, which is why it's brill that someone else is having a go! *g*

ETA - I'm updating this list when people mention stories... and thank you to everyone who does!

nellhowell posted a draft episode-related story list on Pros-lit a few years back. I'm not sure why it hasn't become one of the main lists, but it was quite complete at the time.

Yes, someone sent me a link to the message, from 2005 it was! The list above includes mostly more recent stories in fact, so they would pretty much complement each other. At the message, Nell didn't seem to post it further because she said she felt it was rather incomplete, but it's a great thing anyway!

Btw - did you get my email about the transposed paragraphs in the Circuit version of "Facets ii: Stolen Moments", by Maggie Hall? It was a good few weeks ago now... I've recced the story to a few people, but I do have to keep explaining that there's been some sort of error made when it was posted, and they need to switch the paragraphs around when they read it!

Her idea of "in"complete is, unsurprisingly, still quite complete...at the time, as I recall, people couldn't come up with very much she'd missed. It's definitely true that a lot has been written since then, and I have no idea if she's kept it up on her own; knowing her, I wouldn't be surprised. Perhaps she'll post it again as a draft - it seems like helping her update it and fill in the gaps would be more efficient than trying to recreate it, especially considering how thorough she is. I've mentioned it to her, but of course it's totally her call. (And I will reply as well to the LHB post on the_safehouse).

And I made the fix to the Maggie Hall story a while ago, so you can feel free to recommend it without needing to explain anything.

Lol - well it would indeed, but you have to know that something exists in order to do this, which neither firlefanzine, nor myself, nor anyone who commented on our original posts about an episode-related fanfic list did! Or at least no one mentioned it at the time... Of course it was posted nearly 3 years ago to a membership only list so that's not surprising.

As I said above, this post was really made in response to LRHBalzar's request for ep related fic info, and made as an lj post rather than sent only as an email because of the way I'd already formatted it - but I love that people are commenting with new fic to add. It absolutely makes sense that work is not duplicated - or triplicated! - which is why I've said this info is available for LRHB (or anyone else) to use, but it's great to have input from lots of different people too - it makes less work for whoever is compiling the ultimate list!

(maybe not on your list because written a while ago? I don't know. Also I got this from Rebelcat's website, don't know where else it might be archived.)

A few days ago I was editing my review of ITPI, adding screencaps and generally getting into my fave episode all over again, then chose a short bedtime fic at random, and this was it. Serendipitous or what?

Not on my list only because no one's thought of it until you have! This is by no means a definitive list, it's just the very beginnings of a makings of one! There are lots more post-ep stories out there - I know cos I've read them! - but I don't always remember titles etc for something like this, so it's brilliant to have people helping, and in fact that was the whole point of starting the list - it was originally to help someone else, but they seem to have faded away...

There's alot of older fic as well as the newer on this list (Rebel is "new" to me, cos she was writing after I was! *g*), it's all supposed to be here, so any that you come across are more than welcome - cheers! *g*

The fic that has just been posted by Proslib, 'Glass Houses' by Miriam Heddy, is a coda to Klansmen and explores a bit further Doyle's attitude to Bodie's racism.

I haven't come across Miriam Heddy before, but shall go and look, because this was good stuff. Not the most pleasant or comfortable reading, but after a second and more careful reading, I was really impressed by how seriously hard and tough her lads are, and complex too. There's much physicality (not JUST sex) but also lads being clever with crosswords, books and films. And duty comes first, which always appeals to me.
