Short review:
It's after "Fugitive". Doyle has nighmares and thinks a psychiatrist (not Dr.Ross!) can help.
The story is told through the eyes of that psychiatrist, Hannah, a 60 years old woman.
It's very well written, like all I know from Brenda K!
No sign of a candlelight, nonetheless very intensive!
And there is a remarkable sentence:
"I find myself wishing I had a Bodie of my own."
Any objections?

Date: 2008-05-25 11:20 am (UTC)I think that every slasher can find his place in these Hannah stories, for Doyle never would tell a psychiatrist how far his relationship with Bodie goes. So maybe there is 'more'!?
It's all in the eye of the beholder!
And everybody feel free to think whatever he wants! ;-)

Date: 2008-05-25 01:07 pm (UTC)Exactly! For me, that's the beauty of fan fiction and slash or what lies at their heart: that each of us can make of canon what we will, that we can each interpret the characters in our own way etc. etc.
And your icon really gets to me.....that's the scene where I first became rather smitten with Bodie.

Date: 2008-05-31 07:21 am (UTC)I just think that Hannah is so good for Ray, because she allows herself to be 'involved'. She cares for him. And I could imagine that the success of such a 'relationship' depends on how much the chemistry is right between patient and doc. And I think that is very well written in this story!
My heart tells me that we all should use the Aussie-Way(hope it's no affront or something like that - it isn't meant to be!) of Crocodile Dundee:
###Sue Charlton whispers to Mick "Crocodile" Dundee that her friend has had to see a psychiatrist. "She needed to talk about her problems, to unload them. You know, bring them out in the open," she explains. Mick is amazed. "Hasn't she got any mates?" he asks.
Sue smiles, "You're right. I guess we could all use more mates. I suppose you don't have any shrinks at Walkabout Creek?"
"No. Back there, if you've got a problem you tell Wally, and he tells everyone in town, brings it out in the open, and no more problem!"###
But that's not that easy every time... Even Ray thought that he needs someone else to talk to. Not Bodie, who is part of the problem...
(Btw: The lad of my icon is NOT Sigmund Freud!) :-)

Date: 2008-05-31 04:56 pm (UTC)That's what a Psychiatrist is trained to do, they are approachable, easy to talk to, and they never tell a patient what to do in any given situation but get the patient to work it out for themselves. Also Psychiatrists (in Britain at least) are also qualified medical practicianers as they sometimes have to prescribe certain medications to patients with severe mental problems.
A Psychologist (who studies the mental & emotional psychology of people) would not be qualified in this area.
It's lovely watching Hannah who hardly says anything except to ask the right qestion to get Ray thinking & talking again, & you can see the physical results too.
As for Kate Ross I gave her the wrong title im my previous comment, she is actually a Technical Psychoanalyst(these are the real 'techies' of the Psychology dept.) using all scientific knowledge, computers & technology to analyse a persons mental & emotional psychology.
So in brief a Psychologist studies it, a Psychoanalyst analyses it, & a Psychiatrist tries to help you come to terms with it. ('It' being our own mad psychology).
Sorry this was all a bit long winded.

Date: 2008-05-31 05:44 pm (UTC)A bunch of middleaged women who 'LIKE' men from a 30 year old TV show... ;-)))
(Or is that the reason why you are here ??????????)
((And are all those memes from you ??????????))
;-)

Date: 2008-05-31 07:08 pm (UTC)Don't worry I'm not a psychologist or anything like that, though I do have books on it if anyone needs the research material. Which I've only used to analyse those said men from a 30 year old TV show, no one else.
I may be fixated & boring at times but I'm not that wierd. I just like researching stuff. (I'm a human bookworm!)

(and esp. why all but me... ;-) )
A meme is a bulk of questions you give your flist and they have to answer.

Date: 2008-05-31 09:38 pm (UTC)I don't know exactly what's drawn everyone to reading Pro's fic & collecting pics, most I think probably like me, do so because we are fascinated by this intriguing relationship between these two fictional characters, the fact that they were also played by two incredibly sexy actors being an added bonus. Personally, I have a boring existence and this is also a bit of escapism for me. I'ld never read Mills & Boon, but reading Pro's I find enthralling. Though I have been drawling over some of the pictures & icons. *g*.

Date: 2008-06-01 07:46 pm (UTC)Sexy? Sure!
But "escapism" is a good word!
But as long as most people have something - maybe gardening, or model railway, or stamps, or whatever - I don't mind!
Sweet escapism! :-)
