So... for all I remember lots of people jumped in to say they were happy with [livejournal.com profile] discoveredinalj's format (and I'm glad about that!) I can't help but notice that it's uncommonly quiet over there for a round robin challenge... Last round robin we had over 20 pieces of the story posted in around the same time period, so far this time we only have 4...

Is it bad timing? Everyone just busy? Not keen on the way the plot's going? Lost your muse? Or is it something more sinister - are you all off beavering away on longer stories to please the people in Yahoo who recently complained about too many shorter pieces..? Okay, that's not really sinister, I know (well... *g*), but if it is the case, then this was entirely the wrong time to start a round robin challenge, and maybe it'd be better to scrap it and try something different and longer term instead? Although if everyone's in the middle of other stuff...? Maybe it's time for a challenge break in general?

Anyway - thoughts? Comments? Am I talking rubbish and just being impatient? But I know there's at least one other person staring at it and going huh?!

Oh dear, how short is a short piece? The longest I've ever written is around 9,000 words (and I struggled with that!), but I tend to go for around 1,500 - 3,000 words. I obviously missed that debate!

Anyhoo, back to the plot...

I might not be your typical respondant, because I find it hard to turn down any challenge in my fandoms. Shhh, don't tell [livejournal.com profile] schnuffi I said that! I found writing an excerpt for the RR a welcome change from what I'm already doing, as I didn't have to think about where the plot was going because that's someone else's problem ;) I'm more than happy to have another go, but obviously we'd like as many writers as possible to join in with their ideas.

Just my two pence worth :)

FWIW I think the RR idea is great and I love reading it as it progresses - the reason I'm not taking a part for myself is b/c I can't imagine what I would write. It's really neat but I can't take it anywhere. So I like it even though I can't add to it.

Well, first I have no idea what to write (I suck with writing except for drabbles) and 2nd I'm back at work again so not much time anymore :( But as soon as a plot bunny bites I'll holler *G*

May is not a good month for me workwise, as I do a lot of extra examining work during May and June. And I should put my hand up and say that I am using what free time I have to try and scribble on a Pros fic outside the challenge. I have been eyeing the round robin though, promise.*g*

Have been watching and hoping someone would take up the "Marty" prompt - I've been busy as hell and sadly lacking inspiration but I thought I might join in later. What's been done so far has been terrific.

Oh noes! I'm loving this RR - and I think the format is excellent - I'm just too mired under in RL just now ::crosses all available digits hoping for more::

It's a combination of things for me. Work has just been crazy lately, we've *just* gotten past midterms with my second job and in four weeks time I have two long weekends with out of town guests.

That being said, I'm also not a huge fan of RRs. No offense to those who enjoy participating and reading them. For whatever reason, I tend not to enjoy them as much as stories written by a single author, so I haven't really been into this particular challenge. Best of luck to those who forge ahead!

May is a really busy time for me. I was away for quite a chunk of April, so have had a lot of catching up to do at work; plus the Brighton Festival has just started & I have 3 concerts I'm performing in so my evenings are very busy with rehearsals. On top of this, I have an awol muse, so basically I'm not much use to anyone at the moment. I'm also not so keen on RRs - probably a control issue thing...

But I do appreciate everyone's efforts!

I like the format, I like the way it's going, I...am already writing a story a week--gah! *g* I guess I've been waiting until I feel compelled, which hasn't happened yet because, as you say, there have been only 4 entries. Ahem. (Cart, horse; horse, cart). Although I see now there's a 5th. I have some hope this weekend of being able to indulge....
