28 March Reading Room: Poll
Mar. 9th, 2025 11:18 amOkay, so only two people besides me have so far expressed interest in participating in a Reading Room discussion this month. We will press on, though, and hope a couple more people come out of the woodwork.
Here are the fics I've found for your consideration:
The Persistence of Memory by PR Zed (17,234 words)
"Doyle disappears while on assignment in Wales."
The Long Game by Garonne (20,389 words)
"Doyle seems to have betrayed CI5 and taken off to South America with his ill-gotten gains."
No Mere Abstraction by JoJo (21,744 words)
"Three weeks into CI5 and Bodie’s struggling to keep his chaotic life under control. He’s bothered by horrors from the past, things he thinks he’s left behind, the crashing doubts George Cowley seems to have about him, and the fact that his scruffy new partner isn’t at all what he was hoping for."
More information about these fics is available at the links provided. Two of them have more to their summaries than I copied.
If you think you will participate in the Reading Room, vote in the poll for the fic or fics you would like to read. As before, if you strongly do not want to read one of these fics, you can say so either in a reply or in a private message to me.

Date: 2025-03-10 07:41 pm (UTC)I'll try to participate, but RL is a bit busy at the moment so maybe I can't. But I'll read the story, so maybe I can.

Date: 2025-03-11 11:05 pm (UTC)I voted but I'm also good with any of them. I've read other stories by all 3 authors, but not these (that I can recall).

Date: 2025-03-11 11:56 pm (UTC)Thanks for voting. They should all be good stories, I think. I only voted for The Persistence of Memory and No Mere Abstraction over The Long Game because I have read The Long Game.
