In the spirit of msmoat's recent post resolving to recommend rarely-mentioned stories, I thought I'd mention that I posted a rec/review/discussion of this story on my LJ.

It's tough reading about stories that you don't have access to, I know... But I am working on it; the wheels are in motion, though I don't know if anything will come of my efforts!

Hmmn, Agent With Style (http://www.agentwithstyle.com/) lists British Takeaway III, but not with the story that you're reccing - do you actually have the whole zine there, and can definitely say that it's in BTIII? (Cos in that case I'll fix my listings at palelyloitering! *g*) But I wonder if the contents might have changed in the reprinting too - might be a case of buyer beware, and check with the distributor first!

Good luck with the tracking down too - it's always nice to have the older stories archived on line. (Still looking forward to more Maggie Hall - or really, whoever you have scanned in next. *g*)

Yes, I have the entire original British Takeaway III zine and can definitely confirm that the story is there - it's the last one (it's also listed on The Hatstand zine site entry for BT III, here (http://hatstand.slashcity.net/zineinfo/brittake.html)). My guess is that it's a misprint on the Agent with Style site, since other stories by this author are listed on the AWS entries for BT II and IV, but I agree that anyone buying IV hoping to get this story ought to check.

Thanks for this - I tend to go with the distributor's/publisher's listings of something, if they exist, which is what I did here, although I did check with Hatstand's listings too and saw that it was included. It's a bit different if I've either got something in my hand (my preference) or else I know someone who's willing to swear that they've got it in their hand - you in this case... *g*
