Reading Room?

A few of you might have read in my journal that I am embarking on a new reading game that will have me reading a small selection of fics from each year, beginning with 1986. These will not all be Pros fics, but many will be, and in researching the Pros fics on Fanlore, I've run into a lot of quotes from past Reading Room discussions. That started me thinking that maybe it would be nice if I tried to organize Reading Rooms for some of the fics I will be including in my game, so everyone could discuss them together.

Would people be interested in that? What tips to you have? For instance, what is the ideal length for a Reading Room fic, in your opinion? How far ahead of discussion should the subject be announced? What day should discussion posts go up? Let me know what you think.

I'm interested, although there aren't too many peeps around these days. After all these years, I'm finally reading the Proslib library currently and I've done about 20 authors so far. If I can find the fic you are mentioning, I'll give it a read.

Depends, of course. Length doesn't bother me. Shorter is faster, of course, but I've read all 700 pages of Jane's Magickal series so I'm good. Not all at once! LOL!

I would be interested in a new reading room. But I'm not always fast in reading when I have to work so I think I might need a week for a medium lenght story. I think I could join every evening except Tuesday.

Oh, and it would be great if it could be stories that are either online or on Proslib.

If I'm choosing, it definitely will be. I don't even have any Pros zines except Professional Insight.

Oh, how did I miss this post?! If it's not too late and you've gone off the idea, then I think a Turtle Reading Room would be great! I guess medium-length stories (however that's defined!) would probably be best for me too, for a weekly reading room.

I do hope you haven't gone off this idea, and I'm so sorry I've only just seen this (while trying to find my own reading challenge that I set myself at the start of the year...!)

I may revive the idea. Three didn’t feel like enough people, but perhaps four does.

This week I have a zillion relatives in town, though, so I’m not sure when I’ll be ready to organize a reading room.
