I know the LiveJournal Pros community is a slash community, but tonight I am wondering about others' favorite gen fics. What are yours, if you have any?

The Lost an Found series was the first thing that came to my mind.

Picking Apart Lampshades (Picking Apart Lampshades) by hutchynstark is one of my favs gen stories too.

Jaicen5's and Gil Hale's stories include a deep friendship as well. That's really important for me to enjoy a gen story.

Hannah and Hannah Again by Brenda K are good stories too.

Haven't read them for a few years now but I seem to remember there are some excellent gen stories and in fact you pipped me at the post with the one by Bardicvoice. I love all the authors you mention plus ci5mates and her story (and sequel) about a manhunt in South Africa(?) involving Bodie and Doyle as the prey. Not sure if it's still online but I'd strongly recommend it if it is.. I think I might have mentioned a couple at my favourite quotes journal, Noblesentiments. (Sorry can't remember how to link it for you but you'll find it on my profile page.).

The ci5mates stories are still online at Archive of Our Own.

I'm afraid I don't read gen on purpose, nor do I write it other than the occasional character study drabble. It always leaves me unfulfilled. I'm sure I've accidentally read it in zines but of course, old brain can't remember any that I actually liked.

Ha. As I was about to post I remembered this review I did a long time ago reccing the story, Blood Still Cries by Deb Hicks: https://ci5hq.livejournal.com/110602.html I believe I read this back then because it is incorrectly listed as slash on The Circuit (this was before fanlore) and because Deb is a personal friend and I wanted to read her Pros fic.

I think Blood Still Cries was my first ever Bodie and Doyle story! It's all coming back to me....

I received a copy from ci5mates as it was posted in her journal but i think it has been deleted now. She still remains part of the pros fanfic community where more stories are available, you can leave a message for her on there.

Even though I can't imagine the lads not together, I've recced a few gen stories/authors where the relationship between the lads feels like it does in the eps - which is basically slash to me! *g* But they're technically gen:
Bodies Diary 2000 (https://web.archive.org/web/20011126211013/http://www.prosfanfic.de/dinah/bridget_jomes.html) (especially good for when I need cheering up!)
Frere Jaque (https://ci5hq.livejournal.com/tag/author%20-%20dinah) by Dinah
In fact here's the Wayback Machine index to Dinah's stories (https://web.archive.org/web/20011201121533/http://www.prosfanfic.de/dinah/). She's on my re-read list in general.
