I know M.Fae Glasgow's writing is often like marmite - people either love it or hate it - but I come down firmly on the love-it side, and this is one of my favourite of her stories. Bodie's gone home to family for Christmas, but it's not at all where he wants to be, and his glee at deciding he's going to do what he wants instead is just like a big warm, cosy blanket of joy. And so is the rest. *g* I like how Glasgow (or in this story, Gael X. Ile) doesn't shy away from the gritty and grim parts of life, and the worries and frets and emotions that come up in everyone, no matter how hard they might try or wish for something different. It makes the contrast with the better bits even more blissful. *g*

And you get lines like this: He wasn't really singing it, more mouthing it breathily against Ray's skin... *g*

I liked this, even if the sex scene did go on a bit. *g*

(It was a good one, overall. Lots of feelings.)
