Wondered if anyone could please help me with a couple of questions re Who Dares Wins:

1)I've bought a new (secondhand) version of Who Dares Wins and with my proud new headphones plugged into the tele I actually tried to listen and tried to watch the scene where Bodie gets very badly beaten by two men, one American and one German. I can't stand watching Bodie get beaten in *anything* but what struck me this time was how real it looked, very real, too real, and I'm wondering if anyone has any kind of insider or behind-the-scenes knowledge of whether he actually did go through all of this violence or if they managed to fake some of it (don't know how they would do that, to be honest); and I wondered if Bodie actually sustained any injuries in this scene? It's hard to imagine that he didn't.

2)I'm sure I've missed something here but I've never understood the mountain scene near the beginning where the same two men I've already mentioned get tied up like chickens and beaten by Skellen (Bodie/Lewis). I know this scene is used as the reason for Skellen's resignation but why beat them up when all the people present (including them, I think) are 'in the know' so to speak? Hmmmmm......

3) Finally, I wondered if anyone else thought the choice of actress for his wife was a big mistake? She really irritated me and there's no way in a thousand years I could imagine Lewis wanting to bed *that* prissy little bundle of fun. When he *has* to say I love you Jenny he sounds almost catatonic and I rather think he liked the American terrorist, if the truth is known, hence his hesitation when it came to killing her.

I'd be grateful for any 'informed' opinions and thanks for listening.

(And thanks to the mods for permitting a post which is pros-related).

Ooh - interesting... I can't remember myself, off hand... will have to watch it again, which I can't do until after moving now!

It'd probably be worth asking those questions in a separate post you know, just so that people see them - they might skip over this one, since it was originally directed to the mods, you know? If you like, post the questions separately, and delete this one asking permission - I won't be all offended at being wiped! *g*

Okay this doesn't answer the plot questions but start about halfway down page 8 with a post from ElizabethWalsh & then thru to the last post on page 9 about the stuntman & Lew in WDW...quite interesting!

This doesn't help much, but here's a quote from LC in a 1982 interview: "On the SAS film the worst thing that happened to me was getting a piece of my backside torn out by a strip of balsa wood in a fight scene. That hurts too. I couldn't sit down for two days."
I haven't seen WDW for a while, so not sure which scene that may have been.
