Pros Novel Read-Along - Waiting to Fall by Rob - hmmn...

It's pretty quiet on the read-along front - a few people read the whole thing way back in the first week or so, and a few other people have given up for various reasons, and since they were the people who commented in the first few weeks I'm thinking it might not be worth carrying on with it now. It's a bit silly to be reading-along and then just blathering to myself... *g* But I might be getting a false impression, so... poll! *g*

And while I'm here (*g*) - I'm also guessing that the people who finished it didn't come across anything to make them think the story was "incomplete"?

Actually, I just didn’t finish it. Things were very thingish last week. :(

I haven’t given up on the story, though. I liked what I read of the recent section better than I did the one before..

I gotta admit — I started off blazing through it before we started, and then I realized that though I've read it before, I'm not liking it so much this time around. (Blasphemy about Pros! Oiks.) I have been reading the posts and thinking about not embarrassing myself by posting on what I read earlier, but haven't done anything about actually going back. (Well, and Work. There is that as well.)

I don't want to be the killjoy here, and I will probably read the posts; but maybe this would work better for me if I waited for a new story.

Lol - there's definitely Pros stories that I loved when I first read them, but now I'm not so keen... I guess it's all in that joyous rush of discovery... I miss that! That said, I checked back to the old reviews of WtF here at the comm, and it looks like I didn't finish it when I read it first time, so - I guess we'll see how far I get this time.

You're not a killjoy! It's not like you're telling anyone else that they shouldn't be reading it... *g* But I get the impression that quite a few people have fallen by the wayside here, which is why I thought I'd check... *g*

I feel horribly guilty... Life keeps happening to me in large sludgy buckets, and I have to go deal with it for days on end... I'm not even sure if I signed up in the first place. *slaps own wrist*

BUT! I do appreciate all you do to keep things going and keep them interesting. When I lurch back through the LJ doorway muttering 'Sanctuary!' under my breath, you're nearly always here cheering people on or making some lovely post or other. Thank you for all you do, and sorry to be so lousy at supporting/joining in.

It's been a hard slog, which is probably why I haven't been able to keep up. Like others, I'm finding that I don't care for it as much as I did when I first read it. I do think you're right about the thrill of everything when you first get into a fandom. Anyway, if we decide to carry on, I'll try very hard to catch up.

I will join you in your discussion, I love to return to my favourite fics but this one has always eluded me and it is one that i will follow via the comments if you decide to carry on.
