A Year Ago Today...

So... there are icons popping up on my flist, with Bodie in a headscarf and earring, or with a glass of rum, a spot of... well, balancing himself against Doyle, as he emerged from the boat is all he was doing, I'm sure... and then again with a lash raised above his back...

All of which reminds me that this time last year the very first stories and icons were posted to discoveredinalj for the International Talk Like A Pirate Day challenge - Discovered On A Gangplank.

There were six stories, as well as various icons and some more general pirate-type posts. Love your icon I plan to do one with a pic from that ep, too. Love the expression of the lads there and the way the sweater klings to Lews shoulders...
Also love that quote it's from an actor londonronnie mentioned some time ago: "In the port it was woman, wine & song and on the sea it was rum, bum & concertina.
On one of my jobs I had a working colleague that had some years in marine and merchandise marine. It was fun/interesting to listen to his stories (his father and grandpa were in the marine, too). I would really like to ask him if he can affirm that quote... *giggle* I had some fun to tease him with all that stuff when we worked together.

Good on yer, Dialj - you've done so well! A year? How did it happen? It's unbelievable as it seems like yesterday.... Which reminds me, I'm sure one of those snotty little Radio 4 journalists mentioned it was 'talk like a pirate day' yesterday, or was I dreaming?

Anyway, well done for organising all these challenges etc. they've really helped to reinvigorate Pros writing.
