Pros Fic Reading Challenge - Beach Blanket Bodie by Elessar

This is in the Circuit Archive. I tend to get a page of search results and just read all of them, skipping the pdf files because I am reading on my phone, and reading a zine page with columns is just a chore.

So I must say, if I just heard of a story that makes me think of Annette Funichello in an early 1960s bikini, I might not have read it. But I tried it, and ... it was OK. Bodie is in America as crew for a racecar driver, meets Doyle at a bar, where he is drinking cola because he is underage in this state (under 21?). The moment he sees Doyle, he's in lust. That's a trope I don't adore, but OK, it's competantly done and has a cute twist, and I did like how Bodie is done with the "take me, Liverpudlian" thing. He's embarrassed to admit that he'd like somebody to look past his accent. That's cute.

Somewhere later on this page is Ellis Ward's fic, and that's what I'm here for, but this was fun enough.

This made me laugh. It never occurred to me that there would be such a thing, but of course the was.

That was pretty much my reaction. I was under 10 when it was happening, so by the time I got into the Beatles, I thought they were cute and all, but their accents did not thrill me.
