Pros Fanvids on YouTube

Hi. I'm new to this fandom. I've been noodling around since about October, sampling the fan works, chiefly the fics and songvids. A while ago, I created a comprehensive collection of YouTube-hosted songvids for my primary fandom, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and this week I decided to do something similar for Pros. The lack of distinctive search terms makes it cumbersome to find Pros vids on YouTube, and I thought it would be convenient for me to have them all in one place as much as possible.

Well, wow. This fandom has been amazingly prolific in its production of vids. My MFU playlist has 113 songvids and related items in it. My Pros playlist has 791. You are small, but you are audiovisually mighty.

Wow, this must have been a serious undertaking! I've always been fairly lost about how to find Pros vids on YouTube (well yes I know, the tags, but... *g*) - and now here they are in a single simple list! This is amazing! Thank you so much!

And you know, these are all relatively recent vids too - those 791 vids don't include most of the Pros vids I've downloaded and played over the last 15 years or so, by people like Empty Mirrors and Crimson and Media Cannibals and PRZed and all!

(It's not the system that wouldn't let you add the tags, it's the mods - effectively me, these days. Although I've been thinking for a while of opening it up so that people can add their own tags from the list, so maybe I should do that! It was set up that way so that the organisation/index could be kept in a single format rather than people using different ways of saying the same thing, resulting in lots of different tags that mean the same.)

It did take longer than I expected. And I do know that there are many vids out there that have never been posted on YouTube. The vid tradition of Pros fandom has been stronger than that of MFU fandom for many years, I suspect. None of the dedicated MFU archives that still exist host vids, and neither did the dear departed File 40.

(That makes sense about the tags. They are much more useful for navigation if they are uniform, which is why I was trying to use one that already exists here. There should be a setting to allow that while disallowing new tag creation, but I guess there isn't.)

Wow, this is amazing! I knew there were a lot of Pros vids, but I hadn't realized that there were this many. Thanks ever so much for taking the time and effort.

Yes, there are quite a few dual fans. It was noticing how many authors of MFU fic had also written Pros fic that first made me aware of this show, in fact.

None of my vids are on youtube because of banning/copyright/blocking of the music. I don't know how people get onto youtube. Every single time I've tried to upload a vid, it is instantly "blocked in 180 countries"! Oh well.

I wish it were one! I finally gave up after two C&Ds from Vimeo last year. So now mine are all up on the Wayback Machine with links from AO3. I'm not fighting with them any more. LOL!

Even the whole weekend would not be enough. Assuming conservatively that the 832 videos currently on the list average 3 1/2 minutes each, it would take a little over 48 1/2 hours to watch them all. That's about six 8-hour days, so clearly what you need to do is take a week off work to watch Pros fanvids.

I have added your Pros vids and those of the multi-fandom vids that include Pros material. Thanks very much for pointing them out. I'd already found 7 other missed videos since I created this thread. As I said above, searches for this fandom are trickier, leaving more cracks for vids to slip through.
