Reading Room 2020

First of all, an apology to macklingirl, because I totally dropped the ball and forgot to remind everyone about her Reading Room on 20th December - I'm so sorry! Hurrah for everyone who showed up anyway.

Second - it's that time again, when I ask what, if anything, you want to do with Reading Room!

So - do you want to carry on with the Reading Room in 2020? If so, please suggest the fics you want to talk about in the comments here, and I'll add them to a list. If there's no suggestions then I'm going to assume no interest, and we'll take another break.

And if you can volunteer to host, then that would be even better!

I'd like for the Reading Room to carry on. I wasn't able to participate much during December; the holidays are a crazy time. Now that that's all over, it would be nice to get back into reading. I'll get back to you about what stories I'd liked added to the list.

Agreeing with gilda_elise - I've been hopelessly MIA for most of December, but I'd love to see the Reading Room carry on... and kick myself in the pants to actually show up! That said - I know its hard work to organise, so I won't sulk if it has to take a rest *g*

Would be lovely to see you! I can't always make it myself, but I don't mind organising - as long as I have back up! I can't do it all on my own, and I don't really want to - for me Pros was always about a community of people, our own world of back up for the lads. *g* I need them on the end of the R/T! So... we need stories to talk about, to start with!

Next Friday and Saturday I'm away most of the days, so I can't host any story. But I found one with the random-button on the CA that I didn't know, so I could host this one on Friday 10th January.

Having only just discovered the reading room, I'd be gutted if it didn't carry on!
My attendance was a little erratic in December - a combination of RL and incompetence on LJ were contributary factors. Thank you byslantedlight for your patience!

Well, it looks like we have a few suggestions around - so far so good!

I've added one of these stories to the list, but what I realised about the others is that they're written by people who are still active on lj, and since proper discussion can be both positive but also critical, I'm wondering if we need to check whether they're happy for their stories to be dissected. I don't want anyone's feelings hurt, and I also don't want to stifle discussion, or for people to feel as if they couldn't be honest, cos they don't want to upset someone... I think I might canvas opinion about this, if you don't mind! (Someone else also suggested a story by someone else who's currently active, so it's something we need to think about!)

Please do feel free to make suggestions, even if you can't host! I'm happy to host stories other people suggest (it's just that it's nice to have help sometimes *g*)

That said - I think I need to canvas some quick opinions about discussing stories by people who are still active on lj and in fandom, because a few stories like that have come up, and I'm a bit worried that people might not want to seem critical if it's someone that they know/like/would hate to upset. So I might just see how everyone feels about it before adding them to the list, if that's alright!
