Isn't it the third story?

I'll go and search my zine, I think. *on-the-way-to-the-shelf*

God I love that story. So, so much! First Pros story I bookmarked. I'd commit a fairly major crime to proofread it...the AO3 copy, anyway. It's so sleek and spare, just enough opp plot, and the feel of the characters is wonderful. And it's sexy!

Thinking about this story, you've used the exact words I've had in my head, 'spare' and 'sexy' - so true.

I have a distant memory of proofing the story (with the author's permission) for Proslib. Just did a very quick spell-check and it looks ok, other than American spelling. (Was that in the zine?)

It doesn't seem to have made it to Circuit Archive.

There are sentences that I have to reread even now to remind myself what they ought to say. The example I remember best is just before one of the sex scenes, when Doyle thinks, "Bodie had mad preparations" meaning "madE preparations," and reading it for the first time, I kept thinking these must be better preparations than most ... what? How?

Distracting, which is such a pity. I love the point where Bodie decides he's got to stop, and everything actually in the cafe. I think my favorite is when Doyle just brushes the attackers aside, thinking they're just stupid amateurs. And when Bodie reveals that he thinks Doyle must be manipulating him somehow ... that fear seems very Bodie to me, and Doyle's explanation is frank and real and beautiful.

Yes! We are working on getting a clean copy of the story up on AO3, so no distractions from the beauty of the words! And, yes, please save some thoughts for Friday so Im not chatting at myself... :) I am so happy that there is passion out there for this story.
