Thank you so much everyone who joined in the Pros Novel Read-Along for Painted Angels by Angelfish, and thank you also very much to everyone who joined in the Pros Random Circuit Challenge too! It's been a lovely few months in the comm!
This post from
macklingirl made me think of one of my favourite Pros stories, which I'm coincidentally reading at the moment, and when I described it to her I said it would be in my top five Pros stories, and then I thought maybe top three actually, and that of course got me wondering about that old question, which is so hard to answer, but kind of fun to think about... What are your top five favourite Pros stories?
I think mine would have to be:
1) Voice-over by Elizabeth O'Shea
2) The Larton Chronicles by Rhiannon
3) Island Innocents by Glen Fiddich
4) Facets II: Stolen Moments by Maggie Hall
5) Suitable Gravity by DVS
What about you? What five stories would you want to have with you if you were marooned on a desert island?

Date: 2019-06-16 12:07 am (UTC)I don't know how to choose.
On three separate occaisions, I have paged through all of the Ao3's B/D stories to find the ones I had a yen to reread. I suppose that is a desert island kind of list, though some of them are guilty pleasures. So I chose from them.

Date: 2019-06-16 04:24 pm (UTC)When I first read Pros fanfic, then watched episodes. I kept waiting for the ones when Anson turned out to be an annoying unfunny crud. I wonder how he got such a terrible reputation in fanfic.

Date: 2019-06-16 07:08 pm (UTC)Apparently I have read it, cos I left kudos, but I don't remember it at all, never mind the title.
I agree though, Anson doesn't seem at all in character. I think of him as fairly laconic in the eps we see him. Except for when he's being shirty with Cowley. *g* I always think of him as very much a good guy too - he was the one looking out for them in Backtrack (even if he was also snitty with the lads - who started it, to be fair! - earlier on!)

Courtney Gray's Night Moves.
And *then* you've got stories with favourite introductions, favourite 'catch in your throat' moments, etc., etc.,
Forgot to add Maclean's Choosing and Redemption.

"What about kissing me? Was that just physical contact too?" It was strange, seeing it all together like this, a single solid line to this moment that was so clear, so pure and clear that he couldn't imagine ever having not known. "And that time when
the roof fell in... you brought me a torch?"
Bodie's lips twisted in a half-smile at that.
"No..." He remembered. "You brought me the moon."
You brought me the moon..... just perfect!

You will get my choice, but I need time to think that through, thoroughly, of course.

It didn't make it on my list due to only 5000 words - but it would have been worth it.

The last one is because it is a very long story and I always wanted to re-read it, but never had the time. There are so much interesting stories out there.
And are we all on the same desert island? Because then we could trade zines. *g*
