Part 1 was posted to my journal and I can't figure out how to fix it.

"Black Satin" by O Yardley

Bodie is captured and stripped. How can he escape and foil the villains?

He does, of course. A little case plot, weird clothing, established relationship. As soon as the ... gang leader, I suppose ... was mentioned, I remembered I'd read it when I first read a bunch of stories from this archive. They do tend to run together a bit after a binge like that.

"A Chance Encounter" by Debs

PC Doyle will let Bodie off his ticket ... if Bodie makes it worth his while.

This should be just a bit of dirty fun, but cops demanding sex from someone whose car got stopped? Not fun for me.

"Boys Night Out" by Kazi

One of those "Undercover as Gay turns into real affair" stories, a pretty good case plot. Was OK. I didn't like the sequel "Missing."

"Cowley's Favorite" by Python

Doyle is Cowley's ... special favorite. I prefer B/D.

"Consultation in Calydon" by Asymphototropic

Ray's tear gland keeps leaking. This reminds Bodie (and the doctor) of a Swynburne poem. It's OK.

When you write intensely in the same fandom, there's that Emily Dickinson effect: some are duds. This one feels played out.

"Justice" by Madelein Lee

Post "Wild Justice" and Bodie's sessions with Dr Ross. This is one of those stories with a nicely paced build up and then *pop!* the end.

"A Green-Eyed Yuletide" by S

Jealous and Doyle-y Christmas for Bodie.

"A Little Piece of Mistletoe" by LH

Another one about (a) Christmas and (b) jealousy. Doyle is not enjoying this party.

"Yule Log" by O Yardley

Really I am getting an inordinate number of Christmas stories. The lads are stuck in a car on Christmas Eve, in a blizzard. No jealousy, anyway. I liked this one.

"Knee-Trembler" by HG

Not Christmas! Bodie was reckless and Doyle is angry. Liked this one.

"One Good Turn" by ET

This is a sequel to "Sweet Surrender on the Quayside" by F M Parkinson, which I have not read, but I believe I could make a good guess at the contents. Doyle gets Bodie out of an undercover dig and shows him ... how he feels. I keep looking for the power exchange fic that really rings my bell. This was not it, though it was OK.

And it had nothing to do with Christmas. Yay!

So here's the twelfth, an even dozen.

"Not a Very Silent Silent Night" by Alexandra

While this is adorable and I will keep track of it ... really, archive? ANOTHER Christmas story? What proportion of the archive is Christmas themed if this many come up randomly? That's a THIRD of this dozen. Crazy.

Lol for the Christmas recs - maybe the Archive has you down as being a Kiwi or Aussie, celebrating Christmas in June! *g*

Asymphototropic's stories always throw me - they're amusing enough in that twisted-comic way, but they're just so not the lads. I can't hear Doyle - or even Cowley! - saying Didn't deem there was any necessity, never mind some of the other stuff...

HG, on the other hand, is reliable for a good these-are-the-lads read!

I spotted that you'd posted reviews to your lj, but didn't manage to get over there yesterday! I think you'd have to just copy and paste it to a new post at [livejournal.com profile] ci5hq, editing won't let you choose to post it somewhere else instead once it's been posted.

I think Breaking Cover and A Rainy Night in Soho would be my favourites. Grownup writing.
