Pros Novel Read-Along - the results and one more question!

I think most people who commented on the other posts, and/or showed interest, have voted in the poll now, which means that I can announce - our first novel in the Read-Along will be:

Painted Angels by Angelfish.
First chapter is the Prologue - c4000 words, approx 7 A4-size pages.

It was a very close thing, as you can see - Painted Angels and Catch a Fallen Star by Rosemary both had four votes each. Painted Angels pipped it by being more people's second choice - but what I'd suggest is that if it all goes well this time, we make Catch a Fallen Star our second read-along novel.

So all that's left to wonder now, is about the timing of it. No one wants to rush reading (though hopefully chapter-chunks won't be too long each time), so I'm going to suggest two options - we either read during the week, and then come together to chat over the weekend, or we read over the weekend, and come together to chat throughout the week. Which means we'll either chat about this first chapter this weekend (or next weekend, if two days isn't enough notice for people) or else on Monday. So - another poll!

Whoops! Sorry, I pressed the thingie too soon... but I'm easy, as long as the first chapter's not too long and I can read it in time, then I'm happy to start either this weekend or the next.

Thanks for letting me know - I'll take it into consideration! It's looking pretty indicative at the moment, so I might post shortly - I think we'll be starting this weekend after all, unless lots of people suddenly reply that they'd rather wait until next weekend and we change our mind (in which case we'll have read it early, so no harm...) It's not too long a chapter this time, so hopefully it'll be okay!

Oh yes! It's more of a start-point than an ending point for discussion! A really good one might go on for ages, and overlap with the next chapter, or people might come back to it years later when they've finally got around to reading the story, or... *g*

Just wanted to say that this is a(nother!) brilliant bsl initiative!!!
a) go you (all, plural); b) rl is a pain in the arse for a while (any time not at work has to go on a big repair job) but c) will try to follow along if I get the chance, and d) even if I can't join in, I love it that you're doing this and would love to see what people say! Go Pros!
