[identity profile] byslantedlight.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] ci5hq
It seems like any time I post a suggestion for something Pros-y to do, life drops a hammer on me... sorry for the delay, and not yet replying to everyone individually - where were we?
Novelisation CoversSmall

Eleven people replied to the post, everyone expressing interest although not everyone had the books. In fact not many people seem to have the set of novelisations, although there are a few scattered around out there, so if we do this then I suspect you'll have to listen to me making the main post for most weeks. I can try to keep up with that, because the eps in the novels aren't usually very long, but if anyone wants to help out/sometimes that would be good too!

Another way of joining in, if you don't have the books, would of course be to re-watch the corresponding episode, so that we can compare the stories and eps better - plus it's always nice when we watch the lads together... *g*

So - shall we have a go this week and see how we get on? The first book is: 01 WtJEWhere the Jungle Ends:
"Counterattack! CI5 breaks all the rules: no uniforms, no ranks and no conscience - just results. Formed to combat the vicious tide of violence tht threatens law and order, its brief is to counterattack. And when there's a hijack, a bomb threat, a kidnap or a sniper, men from CI5 storm into action. A tough novel based on the action-packed series from London Weekend Television."
The first episode in the book is Old Dog With New Tricks, from page 5 (well sort of, there's a bit of a surprise... *g*) to page 57, if anyone wants to read along.

I'll try and make the post on Friday, and then there's the whole weekend (and week after, of course) for reading/watching/jumping in to comment or question or ponder, or... well anything, really. *g* Come to think of it, it might be even more fun if anyone thinks of an extra anything to join in with. Let's see if we can make some more Pros posts for our flists! *vbg*

I'm not at home, at won't be for two weeks, so I won't be able to watch the episodes. I will try to comment, though!

I found out that there is a shop on London in Covent Garden where they have most of the books, but the shipping costs are very high (nearly 80,- Euro), so I'll go to that shop when I'm in London in May and look if I can get as much as possible. I think at the moment they have 9 from 13. So I might be able to save the money from the shipping to Germany and spend it there. :-)

But I'm determined to watch the episode.

I have all the books, but in the new house and I can only go there in the easter holidays. Before that I drown in work...
And I think it is a spendid idea, because there are some very special bits in the books.
