A tap on the random button at The Circuit Archive took me to an author and story that I had not read before. The story revolves around Bodie and some plans he has for Doyle. Doyle, meanwhile has his own plans. The dialogue is spot on. Its a gentle, feel good fic. I definitely enjoyed it.

Mellow by Chris

Thank you BSL for posting the challenge!

Oh, that was a nice story - and the perfect length just to squeeze in between doing things!

I'm really glad I posted the challenge too - thanks for joining in! And, you know, if you want to do another one... *vbg*

Goodness, a blast from the past!

'Mellow' was my first ever attempt at writing Pros fic, about 13/14 years ago. I hadn't even settled on my 'Sally Fell' pseud back then!

So pleased to hear that you enjoyed it, and thank you for reccing it *g*

I was able to change the author name for 'Mellow' and one other story on the Proslib CD and the Auto Hatstand, where the stories are also archived, but unfortunately there's nothing we can do to change anything on the Circuit Archive these days so they'll forever be by 'Chris' on there. Bit annoying, but there you go...

Thanks again for your lovely comments!

Gosh, I'm impressed with your pseudness! I have the one, everywhere - deliberate policy so I can remember who I am!

I liked the premise of the story, it reminded me a bit of On Manoeuvres (http://www.thecircuitarchive.com/tca/archive/20/onmanoeuvres.html) by PFL, in that it's a sort of chess game.

But as I said in my comment on On Guard by Gloria Lancaster (http://ci5hq.livejournal.com/302348.html), I usually prefer stories where the romance isn't the dominant feature of the story.

That said, this story (perhaps prompted by the name) put me in mind of a marshmallow - in the best way. Fluffy and sweet.

Nice one! The dialogue is wonderful, and the love just shines through. Like the neat bookending with 'mellow' too :) Very uplifting, thank you :D
