Pros story list - The lads as slaves
Apr. 23rd, 2016 12:34 pmSo I was wandering around lj friends-of-friends this morning, and I came across a Pros wip (I think it's a wip) where Bodie is being sold as a slave (no specific time specified, but not modern) - The Rough Luck by
pushkin666 (great title, too).
Like a good girl I went and added a keyword to
prosficindex, and added the story - and then went completely blank and couldn't think of other Pros slavery stories, which is especially annoying, cos now I quite fancy reading some. I've thought of one more, typing this, but - can anyone help? I don't mean bdsm slavery (though that's another keyword I need to add, isn't it!) but stories from the days/fantasy worlds of slavery.
Will you help me make a list? *g*

Not BDSM mmmm....
Date: 2016-04-23 12:19 pm (UTC)Not a great AU fan, so tend to stumble into, rather than look for, slavery stories. There's 'My Brother's Keeper' and 'Catch a Falling Star' which both have Doyle enslaved - but aren't really what you're talking about (I assume).
Breakheart (http://archiveofourown.org/works/4204902) by Jane, is probably closer - it's from the Boys in Chains archive import, but isn't BDSM - apart from the inequality in the relationship. It's fantasy - LOTR style, rather than historical. You may, or may not, know it...
RE: Not BDSM mmmm....
Date: 2016-04-23 12:34 pm (UTC)I'm actually less sure about Breakheart - "Doyle" describes himself as a bondsman rather than a slave, though in practice they're the same thing for the temporary period, at least... I do know the Boys in Chains archive import, and to be honest I'm not entirely happy about it - the people who did it have basically posted stories online without the author's permission. They give a nice little line about trying to contact people for permission, but they're satisfied with posting first and getting permission after, by which time it's too late, the damage has been done to someone who doesn't want it...
But more to the point - I'll add Breakheart and let readers decide!
Thank you!
