I'm a little early with my rec, but it's definitely the 16th in lad's land, and I won't have time later or in the morning.

Title: Do You Know What I Know
Author: PR Zed
Link to the Story: Hatstand
Pairing: B/D

"What is it with your lot and Christmas weddings?" Bodie flipped the invitation onto the table.

"You've got me. Don't see why Cath couldn't have waited 'til the spring." Doyle frowned. "And I can't say that I'm looking forward to another family wedding."

"Nothing wrong with weddings, Doyle. Good grub, good booze."

"For you, maybe. All I'm likely to get is an interrogation from the family. 'Why aren't you married, Ray? When are you going to find a nice girl, Ray?' Bloody annoying."

"I could help you out there," Bodie said with a wicked grin.

"Oh, yeah? 'Ow's that?"

"Could find a bit of mistletoe at the reception and snog you rotten. They wouldn't ask about you finding a nice girl then."

"Bloody hell," Doyle said, an almost-smile crossing his face as he considered the consequences of kissing Bodie under the mistletoe. "They'd lynch me for sure."

This time, Bodie and Doyle don't have to face villains with guns, but Doyle's family at a Christmas wedding.
I like to see Bodie's on Doyle's family background on occasion, and I really enjoyed this story. I'm under a lot of stress right now, and this took me away from RL and made me smile. Just the thing! I hope it works for some of you, too.

Oh, I'm very fond of this series! Stories in which one of the lads' families figure largely can sometimes tend to be a bit awkward, but these ones really work for me - and what a perfect read for December *g*

That was a good choice. A long time ago, at the beginning of my Pros-time I read this story and liked it. And I still like it.

Thank you for reminded me.

I'm sorry about the stress in your life! Here's to better days soon. But you're right that this is a good story to read to take you happily away from all of that. Thank you for the reminder!

Oh, gosh, I'm sorry to hear that. It must be very hard for you, too, being so far away. How hard for him, though, to not be able to go home! And yet, hips do take time for recovery and rehab. All the best for him in his recovery!

Gone! (Knock on wood). I wonder if it had to do with the changeover from A/C to heating? In which case, it might come back in the spring. But right now, it's lovely.

Thank you! I love this series of fics, and I'd completely forgotten there was Christmas in the middle of it all! I'm so going to love re-reading.
