Well, the birds woke me up around 3.30am this morning, making me think that it really must be summer time - whereupon I realised that I'm being really really really slow about changing my homepage at the site-under-construction that is Palelyloitering. See, it was supposed to have zine recs to fit with the seasons, just to make it a bit prettier (and to remind me to go and re-read the stories too *g*), and you wouldn't think it would be too hard to find those, but...

So I was wondering - what are your favourite lads-in-the-summer fics..?

The wonderful 'Of Sunshine and Cemetaries' by your own good self.*g* I just adore this tale of the lads in France. You can just *feel* that summer promise from the very beginnning..

Yeah, thought Doyle, breathing in the scent of hot earth and dry grass and suntan oil, all that was left to make it a perfect day was the lazy love. He turned away from the country view, surveyed instead his partner, propped up against the smooth bark of a... an elm, Doyle thought vaguely. Bodie's legs stretched out in front of him, clad for once in blue jeans, his white cotton shirt untucked and loose. The history book he'd been reading had fallen to one side, fingers still holding it lightly, and Bodie's eyes were shut. He managed to look dishevelled and elegant at the same time.

Credit away! And in answer to your question about re-reading my own fics, while I'm writing a story, or have just finished one, I re-read it obsessively. Then stop completely. Then after a while, sometimes a long while, I like to go back, revisit the scene of the crime, and see what I did and how I did it.*g*
