It's Christmas eve, and Doyle unexpectedly finds himself at a loose end after all - his latest girlfriend has given him the push, even though he'd promised to spend Christmas with her in the country, and now the op he'd been sent on up north has finished early. Of course he's going to go home and sneak into Bodie's flat, ready to play mischief on his unsuspecting partner...

...but he finds something very different instead, and one thing of course leads to another - well, it is Christmas. I like the sneaky Doyle in this one, determined to make Christmas right for his Bodie, and the way we're eventually shown exactly what lengths he'd go to for it too. The story swerves close to the whole we'll-have-to-talk-about-it thing, but pretty much avoids it, and on the whole leaves me all happy and Christmas-y feeling!

Yes, I've always loved this story. Perfect for the season, with its mix of sadness (Bodie on his own!) and happiness (yay!), with a side of zaniness (really Doyle?) *g*.

I love this. But then, I like everything of Hestia's that I've read so far *g*. And Doyle is just so, so ....
