Isn't it terrific?! The cat-POV is so unique - especially all the expanations she comes up with for their behaviour. And the mousy-gift is just... I can't think of it without starting all over again. ;-)

Reminds me of what animal behaviour researcher Konrad Lorenz told of his blackbird: a blackbird he found as a nestling and raised to maturity always tried to feed him worms as token of his love. When he - surprisingly for the bird! - refused to open his mouth and eat the worm, the bird helped himself by simply stuffing the worm into Konrad's ear.

Hee - I'm not usually big on cats and so on in fic, but I thought this was ever so well done. In fact it wouldn't be the same without Moggy-Next-Door... *g*
