This story always leaves me feeling all warm inside. It seems, no matter the circumstance or the place, Bodie and Doyle can't help but find Christmas together when they really want to. And Doyle really wants to.
It's sort of nice to be able to reread a story when it's been so long that you don't remember a lot of it. Sort of like reading it for the first time. Especially one as good as this one.
*g* I was going to rec this one yesterday - it was a toss-up between DVS's story and JGL's. Glad I picked the other - now both stories get a spotlight! This is one of my favorite Christmas stories - love that Doyle fixes up the old man's apartment and the way Bodie comes to realize what he wants. Thanks for the recc!
One I always very much enjoy, this one - all the little details, the Reader's Digest and the window repairs and the mystery of no snow on the roof, the too-cold flat and the even colder loo, they all give the story such a solid grounding in reality. Makes it all the more delicious when the lads manage to work it out to be together.
