It begins with a very angsty notation:
If Christmas was a time for wishing then Bodie was certainly in the holiday spirit. If, however, the degree of joy, peace and goodwill one felt was the measure...
And yes, it *is* a Christmas story, of a sort… The sort I enjoy, a bit (or a lot) twisted, with a splendid characterization despite a somewhat extreme view of the characters, particularly of Bodie and Cowley, and a very unusual approach. In fact, this is the only story I’ve ever read with this particular approach, despite it being a B/D story.
Things unfold when Bodie says:
"I want it to always be like this."
"Christmas?"
Bodie shook his head, "That would be great, but no. What I mean is that I want us to be able to have a normal life, be together like regular people… …to be with you when I want to be with you, which is about all the time really."
So sweet! And there is a very open ending, which did quite satisfy me!
