December at CI5hq
Nov. 8th, 2013 11:51 pmIt's that question-y time of year...
There's something about Pros and Christmas that seems to go together - there are dozens and dozens of Pros-y Christmas fics out there, and it used to be that Nell Howell, who runs The Hatstand would post a wonderful advent calendar of Pros fic through December - at first it was just a story recommendation for each day, then she added a picture of the lads, and finally she added a piece of Christmas music to accompany it all - it was a lovely thing to find in your flist each day! Sadly she hasn't done this for a few years now, but eventually we decided to have our own version here at
ci5hq.
In 2010 we had a Christmas Reading Room review/discussion post for each day - start at the link and click forward through the days to see.
In 2011 we had a simpler Advent Calendar of Stories, a quick rec posted by a volunteer each day - again click your way through the days to see more! And in 2012 we again had a quick rec posted by a volunteer each day - here are all the days!
So of course I've been wondering - would anyone like to see and/or take part in an Advent of Christmas Story Recommendations again this year? Basically, we'd be looking for volunteers to choose a day to make a quick post reccing a Pros Christmas-ish story of their choosing, from 1st - 24th December. The posts can be as simple or fancy as you choose, but it's always nice to have a link handy in our flist to a gorgeous story about our lads, and that's all we're trying to give people in December. (Here's last year's organising post to give you an idea of how it works, if you've not seen it before.)
Please do the click-y thing for the poll... *g*

Date: 2013-11-10 11:10 am (UTC)But for me 'a story each day' just adds to the usual bustle of that time of the year.
Because I want to read them all - but find it impossible.
(I really try to avoid any Christmas-stress and enjoy the time! :-))
Anyway - I like to go back to recs here in CI5HQ, and would love if there would be a tag 'christmas fic' so that I could read two or three(!) Christmas stories when I'm in the right mood.
Sorry!

Date: 2013-11-10 02:01 pm (UTC)I think there is a tag for the Christmas advent stories - storylist - christmas. But I see that I've only used it for the 2011 Advent calendar recs, so it's limited right now! If/when I have a chance some time I'll catch up on tagging...
