I can find it on her old website thru The Wayback Machine but that's it: http://web.archive.org/web/20031020044203/http://partnersrmore.kixxster.org/Pros2.html

Ack, sorry, I still don't recall ever seeing it before. Bother! It's too pixelated to make out much detail when you blow it up too - though I slightly remember an AU fic with Bodie as a warrior living in... woods maybe? - and Doyle as some sort of hostage from another tribe? I think I gave up before reading more than that, so not much help - but it might jog somebody else's memory. Good luck!
The story you're remembering sounds a bit like the beginning of Jane's The Hunting, though there may be other stories on the same theme. The picture might match with that too, though I've never heard that The Hunting had illustrations, let alone by Lovett...
Thanks, guys! I can describe it more since I have dug out the print I bought.
Doyle does have elf ears but it's in a very small part that you can't quite see online. In the main part he's in chains and Bodie's knife belt has the head of a dragon on it. Down the side are "sages" or older men who remind me of Greeks. It's dated 1991.
Of course, I have no proof it is an illo for a story and not just a piece of art she did. But I'm going with the idea that she did so many zines in the 90s that this goes with a story.
Thanks, F! I've asked Suzan about another piece of art I have of hers but since it's been a good while, she can't remember which zine/story it was for. I've yet to come across that illo in any of my zines but since I don't have all the Pros zines, it's lurking somewhere! After the hundreds of drawings she's done, I can understand that!
I just dug out my (photocopied) version of The Hunting as this looked familiar and my copy has this picture as the frontispiece to Book One! Obviously it's black and white as it's a copy but it is the same picture.

Date: 2013-03-21 07:28 pm (UTC)You're more than likely right - and thank you for putting me out of my misery. I hate when I only half remember something. *g*
I was trying to think of anything that might look like the artwork, but that was the only thing that came to mind. Well, half came to mind *g*
