Jumping in with a last-minute rec for the 15th, cos we seem to have lost our reviewer for the day... *g*
Jingle Balls or Hard Times by M.Fae Glasgow
This means two M. Fae Glasgow stories in a row, but there are at least two other of her Christmas-y stories that I'd be happy reccing - I love her humour, and the way she writes about the realities of the world, just as our lads dealt with those realities in the episodes. It was never glossed over that CI5 headquarters might be a little shabby and in need of paint, or that sometimes the villains won, or our lads got it wrong, and Pros' acknowledgement of the grey and sometimes grim realities of the world is a big part of what I love about it - and the way our lads dealt with those realities.
Here we have a completely different kind of reality - Susan Fisher throwing an annual Christmas party, and our Doyle drunk underneath the glass table upon which Bodie is dancing.
In a kilt. *g*
For those who'd like some help for their imaginations at this point,
smirra posted some rather fab art to go with this story a while ago, and has kindly give permission for me to repost the black and white version here...

There's a colour version here at Discoveredinalj way back in 2008... *g*
Happy reading - and gazing! *g*
