A December question and a Reading Room question

I'm going to take the dangerous step of asking two different questions at once in this post... please answer both, it would be very helpful!

1. December/Christmas/Winter 2012 CI5hq advent calendar
The basic question is - would we like to have one of these this year? It used to be that Nell Howell, who runs The Hatstand would post a wonderful advent calendar of Pros fic through December - at first it was just a story recommendation for each day, then she added a picture of the lads, and finally she added a piece of Christmas music to accompany it all - it was a lovely thing to find each day! Sadly she hasn't done this for a few years now, so we decided to have our own version here at ci5hq.
In 2010 we had a Christmas Reading Room review/discussion post for each day - start at the link and click forward through the days to see.
In 2011 we had a simpler Advent Calendar of Stories, a quick rec posted by a volunteer each day - again click your way through the days to see more!

2. Reading Room/November
The Reading Room has seemed fairly slow over the past several months, and we've not had many volunteers to lead story reviews and discussion (though people seem to join in when someone does review/rec a story!). I should, of course, have posted a new Reading Room theme at the beginning of October, but in the end I thought it might be an idea to rest for a while and see if people were more up for warming up the chill November nights. So... what do you think?

Am I right that "Posting in the Advent Calendar" means posting a story from *any* author? I don't write Pros stories in English...

Yes! None of this is about writing your own stories (go to discoveredinalj for that... *g*)

If you have a look at the links I put up to the 2010 and 2011 CI5hq advent calendars, you'll see that people have posted recs for Pros Christmas stories that other people have written (it would probably be quite bad manners to rec your own story... *g*).

Not necessarily Christmas, but somewhere in the theme of winter/Christmas/December/Solstice/let-there-be-light-in-the-northern-darkness, or the like.

Of course random, non-advent general Pros recs can be posted at any time, here at ci5hq...

I always want to see as much Pros as possible on my screen, in all shapes and forms! ... but I have no idea what work is going to be like (right now I'm buried, and haven't even been reading or commenting on the BB!) so I don't want to promise what I can't be sure of delivering :((((

Oh, this isn't a commitment post at all - just an indication-of-interest post... *g* No point setting something up if no one's up for it, and it's nice to know if people just fancy it but can't, too... Erk for work though - I hope it's just the right side of enough for you!

The Prosfic Advent Calendar sounds like a great idea! :D I might be able to post a few Xmas Pros stories for it. :)

I love the reading room posts! I don't post reviews as I don't think I'm very good at it, but I don't mind joining in with the discussions. :D

Oh good - if a few people can all manage a few stories, then we're sorted! *g*

And you know reviews for Reading Room don't have to be in-depth at all. Mine are quite often no more than "I really liked this one - what did you think?" *g*
