Christmas Plans

It begins with a very angsty notation:

If Christmas was a time for wishing then Bodie was certainly in the holiday spirit. If, however, the degree of joy, peace and goodwill one felt was the measure...

And yes, it *is* a Christmas story, of a sort… The sort I enjoy, a bit (or a lot) twisted, with a splendid characterization despite a somewhat extreme view of the characters, particularly of Bodie and Cowley, and a very unusual approach. In fact, this is the only story I’ve ever read with this particular approach, despite it being a B/D story.

Things unfold when Bodie says:

"I want it to always be like this."
"Christmas?"
Bodie shook his head, "That would be great, but no. What I mean is that I want us to be able to have a normal life, be together like regular people… …
to be with you when I want to be with you, which is about all the time really."

So sweet! And there is a very open ending, which did quite satisfy me!

JGL’s “Home for the Holidays”

Loo paper, Nescafé, tea, butter, a battered packet of Angel Delight and a jar of Hayward's pickled onions - now doesn’t that just say Christmas celebration! And if the thought of all that as a Christmas feast doesn’t tempt you, fill yourself up on JGL’s tantalizing descriptions of Doyle as experienced through all of Bodie’s senses.

After a long and dangerous undercover, there’s a bit of distance between the lads. This is a wonderful story of their finding their way home for the holiday, from one of my favorite Pro’s writers.

In the spirit of the holiday, I’d like to say to JGL, “Please, sir, I want some more!”

I hope you enjoy: Home for the Holidays
