Reading Room 9, or not?
Mar. 8th, 2012 08:15 am"Stories where the lads are outed" seems to have hardly any support at all as the next reading room theme - unless it's just that everyone would like a bit of a break in general, or are fed up with Reading Room entirely. I thought I'd better find out which of those it is! *g*
Skipping over the Stories of the Seasons suggestion, which would take a bit of setting up and needs thinking about/discussing with the person who suggested it, the theme in our last list of suggestions is "Fusion Stories" - not crossovers, but stories based on other stories, such as Professional Dreamer by Pam Rose, or The Ghost and Mr Doyle in Unprofessional Conduct 5. The Hatstand has a fusion story list (which I'm guessing is where the genre title came from!) which also includes stories inspired by songs, such as Sebastian's Down to the Waterline and "other media" - we could include those too, which would probably open up the field for suggestions no end!
If we don't like the sound of that, the theme after that is simply Cross-overs, so we could go straight to that one. Or we could come up with some fresh suggestions, which might inspire us all over again. Or we could take a break for a few weeks, or we could put the Reading Room away entirely, and see if we can think of something shiny and new to take its place, just to ring the changes. Or...? Let me know what you think - other suggestions all welcome!
