In The Bleak Mid Winter tells the story of Bodie's and Doyle's relationship via four Christmas Days over a six year period.

The first one is just before they meet in CI5, and the others chart their progression as partners and lovers. In brenk's hands, Bodie and Doyle are proper blokes *g*, so of course they don't talk about their relationship, or how they feel, or how they miss each other, or how they want more from one another...

We also get glimpses into the boys' backgrounds and families, and Bodie's parents in particular are nicely original compared to popular fanon.

There's humour, a little angst, understated tenderness and a lovely ending... what more do you want for a festive fic? :-D
