Just a quick heads-up to let you know there'll be a slight delay in my Reading Room post this week. When I chose Poison Apples to review, I ordered a copy of The Wicker Man film, and it's already been posted and will most likely arrive tomorrow - just too late to do my review on time. So I'm hoping that it'll be here, I'll watch it tomorrow, and post a review on Friday - but if worst comes to worst it might be Saturday instead...
So maybe there's a little more time to read the story now, if you've not already done so...? *g*
Poison Apples by Pamela Rose (fusion with The Wicker Man)
I believe this Pros story was quite controversial in its time - it certainly spawned a number of sequels, which is always an interesting sign... *g*

Date: 2012-04-12 12:33 am (UTC)I liked it - I like "not-nice" things (don't think that's a spoiler) - but I'd like to rethink it since I have more knowledge of the fandom (like, well, watching the series :D).
Haven't seen the movie, though I've heard about it.

Date: 2012-04-12 07:27 am (UTC)But I think I have to read it again, now that there´s still time.
I just don´t know what to think of it. I put it away after the first third or so because I was bored, but then I started again and couldn´t put it down any more.
Maybe I´ll read sth else, though. *g*
Looking forward to your post! Whenever.

Date: 2012-04-12 08:40 pm (UTC)Oh, and I was a teenager when I saw the film, and shortly afterwards the school choir started to rehearse a new song....
'Summer is a-coming in...'
Eeeeeek!!!!

Date: 2012-04-12 08:55 pm (UTC)I've just watched the film (it arrived!) and heard this song - and straight away remembered it from my Medieval Babes album! But how spooky would it have been to hear your school choir singing it - all that teenage realism, as opposed to faery fantasy! *g*
I shall look forward to hearing from you tomorrow about it all! *g*
