"Deck the Halls" on the Proslib CD, Disk 18.

I dithered about this for a long time because ideally I should provide a link for you to click on to get a bit of seasonal cheer. Instead, I'm making you look for your CD....

But it is totally worth it! I love "Deck the Halls". It's one of my favorite Christmas stories. Doyle returns to London unexpectedly at Christmas, after planning to be out of town. Naturally, he goes to Bodie's ...where he discovers his Christmas-mad partner, who always celebrates the day in style, drunk and alone in a cheerless, undecorated flat. Without Doyle, what was the point? ("Ooh," goes my heart.) Doyle decides to rectify the situation. He will provide Christmas for Bodie. Never mind that the shops are closed and he has no food or supplies. He's one of CI5's finest! He'll manage. Somehow... It's for Bodie!

Oh, that was the Christmas story I was trying to remember the other day - well done, you! I think. Now see, I definitely have to read it to make sure... *vbg* But I know that I think Hestia's great - she co-wrote my favourite From Here to Eternity too... *happy sigh* (Deck the Halls is also in Virtual Pros: the Christmas Edition (http://www.palelyloitering.com/zines/virtualproschristmasedition.html) if anyone happens to have that around... I'm always really grateful for recs, reviews and reminders of stories on the CD, because I tend to neglect it, which is bad when it has so many gems on it. So thank you for this! :-D

I'm the same way with the CD. We're both very bad. *g* But I did load a bunch of CD stories on my Kindle, and that helped. This story is an excellent excuse to dig out the CD!

I also tried to put a couple of stories on my Kindle, but it wasn't very successful, *g*, so I'm assuming you have to re-align every line before putting any CD story on the K?

Yes, I reformat the stories before I put them on my Kindle. I use Scrivener (a Mac-based writing program) to format the story, then save it as html to bring it into Calibre, then convert. Yes, it's a process. *g* I could send you some of the ones I've formatted, if you like!
