The Homecoming by Sebastian

I always forget that this story is by Sebastian, never mind that it's part of her Adagio series (though it can totally be read on its own). It's great - there's Christmas, in a very CI5 way, and there are Doyles, in a rather brilliant way, and there's Bodie by Ray's side the whole time in a very *sighs-happily* way! It's not syrupy or soppy or overly-Christmas nor not-Christmas-at-all, it's just... just totally imaginable, somehow. This is Christmas. *g*

ETA - and I also forget that Sebastian has her own website of course, where her stories are posted, and that she explains Adagio was the first Pros story she ever wrote, way back in 1982...

I love this story! I very fond of stories that include Ray's family. They have been protrayed so many different ways. (But Momma Doyle always seems to have a soft spot for our Bodie!)

Sebastian is one of my favorite Pro's writers. Why did she give it up?

I quite like to see the lads' families too, it's so interesting to think about where and when they turned into themselves... And hee that Doyle's mum always seems to have a soft-spot for Bodie, I think you might be right there! Well - actually I can think of one where she doesn't, but that's because Ray's in a long-term coma after something went wrong on an op, so you can understand why... oh, and if only I could think of the name of the story, or the author!

I've never met Sebastian, so this is hearsay rather than anything else, but I gather Sebastian stopped writing Pros when other things came into her life. Actually Adagio was the first story she wrote, as she explains at her website (http://www.zeropanic.net/fanfic/sebastian/pros/html/Sebastian%20-%20Adagio.htm).

I tend to forget it's by Sebastian too - because I like the whole Adagio series very much and I am not a great Sebastian fan as a rule. Thanks for the reminder!

And I still haven't found time to upload any of the other Pros Christmas icons I have so you'll have to keep giggling for a day or so longer.

That's interesting! I very often find her writing too overtly experimental, and too 'self -aware'. I admire it without enjoying it. But Adagio was great.
Presumably at that point she was just being herself! *g*
