Since I missed getting sorted in time for the usual Thursday Reading Room this week, and since there doesn't seem to be a Hatstand Advent Calendar after all this year (*sighs sadly*), and since 9 out of 10 cats prefer... 8 out of 14 people polled said they'd like something Christmas/Winter/Something Else special for the Reading Room, but on the other hand 6 out of 14 thought they might be too busy to play, I thought we might try something a little different this December. Or sort of the same... *g*
Last year we had The Christmas Reading Room, which was very cool indeed, but we all seem to be short of time this year. Rather than posting reviews for discussion then, I thought we could perhaps have a wee rec each day that might do no more than link to a story that's often missed in the usual flurry of Christmas stories - or just that you might remember fondly - along with anything else the reccer fancies adding. I'll take up any empty days myself (it'll be good for me - a bit of discipline!) I've posted my first one, to give you an idea of what I mean - it's here... *g*
As usual it'd be far more fun if other people joined in, so (as usual *g*) I'm wondering if anyone out there would like to volunteer to choose a story for which they'll post the link on a particular day between now and the 25th of December? You can add as much to it as you like, or invite discussion, or do nothing more than post the bare link (well, maybe title and author... *g*) Ideally, perhaps, they'd be less well-known stories, perhaps fic that's been buried a little bit in the archives, or in a livejournal post somewhere but it doesn't have to be. Anything at all, so that somewhere in our flist there's a wee link for us to hit at the end of a long December day, with the promise of a Christmas-y/Winter-y/December-y Pros story behind it...
You don't have to say what the story is, or spoil the surprise for the day (cos half the fun of an Advent Calendar is the surprise *g*) just comment below to choose a day and let me know. And if no one does, then I'll struggle on by myself, curling up and reading all those cosy stories... well, someone'll have to... *g*
What d'you reckon - does it sound doable, or will you be dropping CI5hq from your flist in horror at the very thought? *g* Oh, and I thought it might help towards
moth2fic's idea for another game to play too!

And no in-depth anaylsis required - as you can see from mine I've basically given a link and said something quickly about where it's come from, and that's pretty much it! Well, and I included pics, cos who doesn't love to see our lads? *g*

Date: 2011-12-09 06:02 am (UTC)Do we post based on the Lads' time (ie London – GMT)? I'm only asking because I'm 11+ hours ahead of the Lads' time, so will need to be careful to not post too early *g*

Date: 2011-12-09 07:47 am (UTC)You can post any time really, as long as the person before you has already made their post! Just out of courtesy to them, really... *g* That looks like Milomaus (Germany) and probably myself (UK) so we shouldn't be too far behind, time-wise! *g*
