Our final story in the Lads in Other Times theme is Meg Lewtan's Traitor's Fate, which can be found on the ProsLib CD (if you don't have a copy, you should!), and which discussion will be led by [livejournal.com profile] siskiou!

I joined Proslib ages ago but can't find any way to find out how to get the CD or how much it costs etc. etc. without 'bothering' the 'owner' with emails. I don't want to email her because if it's wildly expensive I won't go ahead. I've given up a couple of times. Any info gratefully received.

Thanks for the quick response! I'll email her, then, though I really really hate approaching people 'cold' so might not get round to it for a while. In any case - there'd be no way I'd get the CD in time for this week's RR discussion.

I'd like to have it - just didn't want to pay zine-type prices. As you know, I'm very multi-fandom and couldn't honestly justify that sort of expense just for one! I spend quite a bit on books in general and would be happy to pay what I regard as normal costs for good fanfic (though I like the 'gift culture' of fandom) but zines are a step too far - I know the costs aren't for profit, just reflect the actual cost of short print runs etc. - but for a reader accustomed to buying e-books quite cheaply *shrugs*.

Anyway, you might yet see me in a discussion based on a fic on the CD. One day.

Thanks! For all the reassurances and for your email, too. Even if I had zines they would currently be in boxes in another country - a CD is a more portable/accessible option *g*

I sent for the CD a few months ago. It was very easy, I was not made to feel like I was 'bothering' her at all, I paid by PayPal and it was very cheap for the amount of fic you get. The CD arrived within about 10 days of my order, which considering I'm in the UK and it came from the US (I think?) wasn't bad at all. I have read lots of fic on there that isn't available online, and altogether I would really recommend buying the CD.
