A quick reminder, just in case anyone didn't pick this up from the last post - the first story in our Older Lads themed Reading Room will be The Story of My Life, which will be reviewed/recced by

A few people have mentioned this, so I'll throw it out there now too - although Reading Room is for fic discussion, the reccers and reviewers work hard to make their posts, so just knowing that they've been read and appreciated is a good reward! If you do read a post and enjoy it or appreciate the information, please leave a quick comment just to say thanks, or whether you also like the story or not, even if you don't feel you want to join in the actual story discussion. It'll all help to make reviewers think it's worthwhile doing again another time... *g*
It's also okay, as this is a discussion post, to disagree about a story! If the reviewer loved a story that you didn't, it's okay to say so - as explanation rather than flaming, obviously. *g* And it's helpful for readers to see that there are different opinions about stories, about what works and doesn't - I know I'll often follow recs from people I see have the same tastes in fic as I do, and conversely I know that I don't have the same tastes as other people, and so I know to expect something different from stories that they recommend. Authors can find disagreement useful too - it can give ideas and inspiration for the direction a story might take, when you're writing, all grist for the mill!

Date: 2011-06-14 11:05 am (UTC)It takes an uncommon situation and makes it pretty believable. I also think it uses age pretty adroitly to give B&D characteristics they might not have been able to pull off at their canon ages without remaining in character -which allows them to express their relationship in a different way (and Bodie's not even there).
It's the type of story that should be on a rec list. Thanks for that.
