The Reading Room - Theme IV - Stories When the Lads First Meet

A thousand apologies - was thrown in the scheduling of this when lj was under attack, and didn't quite recover until today...

So because I want to be a bit anal about changing themes at the beginning of a month rather than in the middle, we can now either have two Reading Rooms on the theme of Stories When the Lads First Met, or we can have six - what d'you reckon?! It might come down to how many volunteers we have to recc the stories... rather than voting for them, I thought I'd just go for volunteers - if you're up for reccing/posting for discussion one of the stories below, on a Thursday in either the next two or six weeks (but not tomorrow) then please comment below!

And last but not least - a few people thought it might be interesting to have a more general Reading Room discussion on the topic tomorrow, so bring your thinking-caps about the lads meeting for the first time in Prosfic (or in your imagination, or... *g*).

ETA - we have three volunteers so far, so it looks like we'll run with this theme for six weeks rather than two! Still looking for three more volunteers... *g*

ETA2 - no one else volunteered after all, so we'll just do the two recs for this theme, and then move on.

It's a very good "script" (I say script for the action is almost everything in it; the characters really need to be fleshed up, a lot).

Yeah, I know.... But it's some time now since I've read it - and I 'hope' that maybe there are more character "hints" than I remember!

I think I remember the story being quite character-full too, and I could see where our lads came from (all three of them *g*) It'll be an interesting story to discuss, by the looks!

Okay - the catch with that one is that the story's not online (as far as I know) or in an available zine, so you'll need to help ensure that sure everyone who wants a copy has a copy - is that okay? I'll direct people to your lj user info page to "private message" you and request a copy, but you might need to keep an eye on the comments to the announcement page too, if people ask how to get hold of it. I was going to pick that one myself and do the distributing, but I'm guessing you must have it much closer to hand than I do, since you volunteered!

ETA - oh, and I should have said, would you like to do next Thursday (21st April?)
