A Prosfic Challenge for Halloween
Oct. 21st, 2010 08:53 amIt's been a while since we've had a fic rec/review challenge, and since it's the 21st of October today and there are just 10 days until Halloween, I thought perhaps we could have a Halloween Prosfic Rec/Review challenge - please post to the comm to let us know your favourite (or non-favourite, or the one-you-just-read, or potentially-overlooked, or... anything, really *g*) spooky Prosfic. What Prosfic should we be reading at midnight on the 31st of October this year...? *g*
There are a couple of story lists over at Hatstand, and a couple of Halloween challenges at Discoveredinalj, if you'd like to start reading - and please come over and tell us what you thought of the stories you chose afterwards! Let's have a whole ten days worth of posts about Prosfic for All Hallow's eve... *g*

Date: 2010-10-21 09:20 am (UTC)Be fab if you'd do a post about Temple of Venus and why it's good, you know... even if it was just saying to everyone "Here's a spooky story I like" and then giving the link... *g*

Date: 2010-10-22 05:47 pm (UTC)I loved the Blue Figurine as well. It's got a kind of Tales of the Unexpected thing about it.
There's a very strange couple of stories where Bodie is some kind of Angel of Death, who keeps seducing men who are about to die. It's very creepy, very explicit slash, and really intriguing. I can't remember what it's called.

Date: 2010-10-22 06:06 pm (UTC)Have you read The Same River (http://www.kelper.co.uk/helenraven/sameriver.htm)? That's another gorgeously creepy one...
And yeay confidence - shall look forward to it! *g*

Oh yes - The Same River - brilliant. Spooky and Science Fiction. I loved that story.

Date: 2010-10-23 05:15 am (UTC)Here are a couple of my favourite ghosts / supernatural PROS stories:
Dust and Secrets (http://www.thecircuitarchive.com/tca/archive/13/dustand.html) by PJ
A Double Portion of Spirit (http://www.thecircuitarchive.com/tca/archive/17/adouble.html) by Asymphototropic

Date: 2010-10-23 09:20 am (UTC)I've read Dust and Secrets, but not the Asymphototropic story - I tend to find that she's a clever writer, but doesn't write my lads, if you see what i mean. I shall give it a go though, and see!
And you know, if you fancy making an actual rec post to the comm, that'd be fab... *g*
