I am truly and deeply puzzled as to where this came from. Last night, I sat down to work on my fic for the Bonfire night challenge for discoveredlj and instead of a fic, I got a vid lol.

Thanks for the great feedback - I swear the vid just about made itself, it was so much fun. And, you know I had a lot of great material to choose from. I didn't even get a chance to use any of the planes they used in the series lol. The music has always been stunning, and just the thing for something tongue-in-cheek, which is such a Pros things anyway. I'd like to think Rossini really doesn't mind :D

If you like Gordon Jackson, you are my mate! I really discovered him through the B/C stories; in the other fics, the character of Cowley is so marginal (either absent or somehow transparent, a mere figure of authority), that, when I came from the written fictions to the show, I didn't pay much attention to him but after my interest had been aroused, it never got down and extended to the actor. I personally find him handsome and even beautiful, in spite of his wrinkles and thining hair. And I love his smile and his voice.

As for the icon, I borrowed the picture from grey853 and owe the captions to natillya, who writes (excellently) in the Man From U.N.C.L.E. fandom.

By the way, aren't you tempted by a Cowley vid? (I know only two of them, "Gambler" and "Mean Old Man").

I've fancied Mr. Jackson after I first saw him in The Great Escape, lo, these many years ago. There's also a pretty young David McCallum (pre-Illya by a year) in that movie to sigh after also...

I'm not a B/C'er by any chance, but I like it when Cowley gets more than just a few lines. I'm writing a WIP that has him in it a lot.

As for a vid - I'm looking for the right song. Some vids start out with a scene I just have to vid, or an idea for theme that I find a song for, or sometimes just a song I really like and thing will make a good vid. I have a general idea on what I'd like to do, but am looking for the correct music. Any suggestions would be happily entertained.

Okay, while lj seems to be back... *g* I didn't have any problems getting to your vid, and I'm glad cos I thought it was genius! I giggled and smirked my way all through it, and to my untrained eye/ear the synchronizing of clips and music worked brilliantly. Loved the bit with Bodie being clapped at the bus stop, and the end with the...hee! It was brill! Thank you so much for this! Now go write bonfire fic *is greedy* *g*

I enjoyed this very much. It's always great to get a fresh perspective and use of scenes - not that I ever tire of the Lads, mind you. Love the way you have shown them in the red track suits at the beginning to set it all up; it really goes with the pause in the music at that point.
